Terms of Service

Last updated 2026-11-01

These terms are an agreement between you and 1614754 B.C. Ltd. ("we", "us"), which runs Ortus Station at ortus-station.com. By creating a station or using the service you agree to them. If you use Ortus Station for a business, you agree to them on its behalf.

The service

Ortus Station gives you a crew of AI assistants ("bots") that research, write, design, build small web pages and apps, and work with apps you connect, such as your email, calendar or code repository. You give them jobs in chat or as missions, and they report back with what they did and made.

The service is in beta. Features change, and some apps shown as "coming soon" are not available yet.

Your account and station

You need an account to use Ortus Station. Keep your password safe; you are responsible for what happens under your account. The person who creates a station is its owner and can invite others, give them a role, and remove them.

You must be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.

Credit, plans and payment

Work is paid for with credit ("Station Resources") in your station's balance. Each result has a price shown on our Pricing page; the price is held when work starts and charged when it finishes. Work that fails is not charged. A crew member on a more capable AI model costs more per result, as shown when you choose the model.

You can buy credit with a monthly plan (charged monthly and added to your balance) or a one-off top-up. Unused credit carries over while your station is open. Credit has no cash value, can only be used on Ortus Station, and is non-refundable once bought, except where the law requires otherwise.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

We may change prices. A change never applies to work already started, and we will show new prices on the Pricing page before they take effect.

What bots do, and your approval

Bots can only use the apps you connect and give them. Anything that sends, posts, books or changes something outside Ortus Station (an email, a post, a pull request, a calendar event) waits for your approval unless you have set that app to run without asking. You are responsible for what you approve and for what you allow to run without approval.

AI makes mistakes. Check a bot's work before you rely on it, especially facts, figures, legal, financial, medical or safety matters, and anything you send to others. Bots are not a substitute for professional advice.

Your content

What you put into Ortus Station (messages, files, notes, knowledge) and what your crew makes for you (documents, images, decks, pages, apps, code) is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, including sending it to the AI and other providers listed in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the right to use what you upload, and for how you use what your crew makes. Images and text made by AI may resemble existing works; check anything important, such as a logo, before you rely on it.

Acceptable use

Don't use Ortus Station to break the law, infringe others' rights, send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, harass anyone, make malware, get around security or rate limits, or try to access other stations' data. Don't resell the service without our written agreement. We may suspend a station that does, and will tell you why where we can.

Connected apps

When you connect an app (for example Google or GitHub), you authorise Ortus Station to act in it on your behalf within the permissions you grant. You can disconnect it at any time under Configuration, Apps. Your use of those apps is also governed by their own terms.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Ortus Station running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change or stop features. If we close the service, we will give you reasonable notice to download your work and use your credit.

Closing your station

You can stop using Ortus Station at any time and cancel your plan under Configuration, Billing. To close your account and have your data deleted, use "Delete station and account" in Configuration, Settings, or email support@ortus-station.com. Deleting your station cancels your plan at once, so nothing more is charged; the station closes straight away and is deleted for good 7 days later, unless you restore it before then. Its published websites stay up during those 7 days. Unused credit isn't refunded when you close your station, except where the law requires otherwise. A team member can leave a station, and delete their account, in the same place; their private chats there are deleted, and what they shared stays with the station. We may close a station that breaks these terms.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will show the date of the latest version here and tell station owners about significant changes before they take effect.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Questions: support@ortus-station.com.
